A contact information can be an email address or phone number.


However, most marketers collect emails because of email marketing’s highest return on investment ($36 for $1).


Other terms for a lead magnet funnel are opt-in page, squeeze page, and lead generation landing page.

Why do marketers use lead magnet funnels?

Marketers use a lead magnet funnel in order to generate leads and build their email list for marketing purposes.


Once you build a strong email list, you can not only monetize it, but you can also use it to drive traffic to other marketing channels, such as your website, blog or Facebook page.

What are the components of a lead magnet funnel?

A lead magnet funnel has 6 components that are interconnected with each other.

Step 1 : Define Your Target Customers

Before creating your lead funnel, define your target customers and determine their pain points and needs.

Defination of target customers.

Go deeper and even define their geographical locations, age, gender, and income level. This will help you to create a customized funnel.


For example,


Target Customers: Affiliate Marketers.

Pain Points : Lead generation and creating landing pages.

Locations: USA, UK, and Canada.

Gender: Female

Age: between 30 and 40 years old.

Step 2 : Create a Lead Magnet

What is a lead magnet?


A lead magnet is a gift that you give to your target customer in exchange for their email address. It should be a solution to their problems.

Moreover, your lead magnet should be valuable and attractive (I mean the design) to motivate your target audience to give you their emails.


For example,


If your target audience is email marketers, a free e-book that can show them "How To Start An Email Marketing Business" would be a good fit.

How To Create A Lead Magnet?

There are 3 ways to create a valuable lead magnet.

1. Use your expertise

You might have some knowledge and expertise around a subject. You can use this knowledge and information to create a high-quality lead magnet.


It’s not important to write a 100-page book, a long report, or a 1-hour video. You can write a 1000-word report and use it as a lead magnet.


For example,


if you're a fitness trainer, you can record 10 minutes of video and teach people the best exercises, nutrition tips, and supplements to burn fat.


Additionally, you can use Canva to create beautiful cover designs for your book, free report, etc.

2. Create a lead magnet by AI

You can use AI, such as ChatGPT and Prompt Advise, to create a high-quality lead magnet and use it on your funnel to generate leads.


The best way to create a lead magnet with AI is to give details and instructions for the AI platform on what to create for you.

For example,


“Hey chatgpt, I need a lead magnet for my funnel to generate leads.


The lead magnet should be at least 2,000 words and teach people how to start email marketing in 5 simple steps.


Explain each step in detail and support them with data and statistics at some point.


Allocate the fifth step for driving traffic through social media, search engines, and solo ads, which is the easiest form of running ads and building a big email list quickly.”

PLR resources are done-for-you digital products that you can use as lead magnets in your funnel.

After creating a lead magnet, now it’s time to select a funnel builder to create your lead magnet funnel for lead generation.


There are hundreds of funnel builders, such as Clickfunnels, Aweber, and GetResponse. But they are expensive, and you don’t need to pay for them.

Using specific numbers helps the reader scan the headline easily and stating the results motivates them to feel the outcome.

3. Create Curiosity

Sparking curiosity in a funnel headline grabs attention, makes people eager to learn more, and increases taking action.


It creates a desire for answers, leading to higher engagement and conversions in your lead magnet funnel.


For example,

Adding a sub-headline will support the headline and explain it further to create interest in the mind of your target audience.

In the subheadline, consider highlighting the extra benefits of your lead magnet for your audience.


Alternatively, instead of a subheadline, you can use 3 to 4 bullet points to give more clarity and support your headline.

For example,

Sub-headline:

Build the #1 digital asset online that allows you to make sales consistently.


2. Headline:

Step 6: Call To Action (CTA)

A call to action instructs people to enter their email address to receive the lead magnet (free offer) in their inbox.

A CTA can be in the form of a button or an opt-in box. In the example above, I used an opt-in box for my lead magnet funnel.

Step 7: Testimonials (optional)

A testimonial is a statement by a satisfied customer that describes how your product or service helped him and improved their life.


For example, Bob purchased your skincare product called “ABC” that helped him to reduce acne and wrinkles from his skin.


Now Bob will testify in a short video and describe how your product helped him and why he really loves it.


When you add Bob’s testimonial in your lead magnet funnel, people will start to trust your offer, and they will opt-in to get your giveaway and join your email list.


So, to boost your conversions and credibility, I suggest adding at least 3–5 real customer testimonials to your lead magnet funnel.


A testimonial can be written, video, or reviewed. Video testimonials work better than other forms of testimonials.


Adding testimonials to the lead generation funnel is optional for beginners because they are newbies in their business and have no social proof to add to their landing pages.

How can you find testimonials for your lead funnel?

One effective way is to reach out to your past customers directly through email or phone. Ask them if they are satisfied with their experience using your product.


If they express that your product has benefited them, consider asking for a short video testimonial in exchange for a free product.


This approach enables you to quickly gather authentic testimonials from happy customers to enhance your lead generation funnel.

Step 8: Create a Thank-You page

What is a Thank-You Page?


A thank-you page is used to express gratitude to new email subscribers who join your mailing list in exchange for a free lead magnet.

Most marketers utilize a thank-you page for gratitude only, but it would be a good idea to monetize it as well.


I recommend introducing a low-ticket offer on your thank-you page, priced between $30 and $50.


This can help you generate revenue and cover your expenses.


If you attempt to promote a mid- or high-ticket offer (priced above $50), potential customers may hesitate to purchase since they are unfamiliar with your brand and may lack trust.


Once you build a strong relationship with them through an email automation series, then you can promote mid- and high-ticket offers.

How To Monetize Your Thank-You Page?

First, thank them for subscribing or signing up and tell them they will receive their gift in their inbox as shown in the example above.


Secondly, introduce your offer by creating a catchy headline and supporting it with 3-4 bullet points.


Thirdly, create a call-to-action button in the end to check the product now.

Step 9: Run an A/B Testing

What is an A/B test?


It is a method used to compare two versions of a lead magnet funnel to see which one gets the most conversions. It's also called Split-Testing.


Look at the example below:

As shown above, funnel A and Funnel B are the same, but the headline in Funnel B is changed to see if it's converting better than Funnel A.


In A/B testing, we test one thing at a time: the headline, subheadline, bullet points, image, or call to action.


If you change a few parts of your lead magnet funnel at once, as a result, you will not know which part caused the highest conversions.


So, I recommend changing the headline first because it's the first thing that grabs people's attention in your funnel.

How To Run an A/B Testing for a Lead Funnel?

Step 1: Create a funnel and name it "original".


Step 2: Duplicate the original funnel and name it "variant".


Step 3: Change one thing in the Variant funnel. Start with the headline first.


Step 4: Drive traffic to both the "original and variant funnel".


Step 5: Check the metrics to see which one converts well. Your funnels should get at least 200 views to judge.


If the variant funnel got the highest conversions, therefore, select it as your go-to funnel for lead generation.
