What is the difference between email conversion rate and email click-through rate (CTR)?
1. The conversion rate shows the percentage of people who click the link in your email and take action after that...
such as buying a product, joining a course, or signing up for a newsletter or software.
2. The email click-through rate shows only the percentage of email subscribers who clicked the link in your email without taking any action after that.
For example, they may click a link and visit the sales page but don't purchase your product.
Simply, CTR measures interest in the email content itself.
The conversion rate measures how many recipients completed the intended action after engaging with the content.
Email conversion rate formula: number of conversions / number of emails delivered × 100 = email conversion rate.
Let's see the example below:
1. You sent an email to 10,000 subscribers.
2. 9,500 emails were successfully delivered.
3. 300 people made a purchase (conversion goal).
Conversion Rate= 300/9500 ×100=3.16%

The best way to increase your email conversion rate is to build a strong relationship with your email subscribers.
A strong relationship allows your subscribers to read the email and start taking action whenever you promote a specific offer to them.
It's not so easy to build a strong relationship with your email list overnight. It takes weeks and months to do that.
You have to provide good contents, high-quality offers, and solve their problems in order to win their hearts.
If you send promotional emails all the time to your list, they think of you as a salesman or scammer; as a result, they will unsubscribe from your list permanently.
Here is a step-by-step guide on how to build a strong relationship with your email subscribers:
Content emails provide valuable information tailored to subscribers' needs and interests.
These emails are known as value-building emails.
Most email subscribers join an email list to receive valuable content and newsletters in order to improve their information and knowledge around a specific subject.
No one wants to get sales emails all the time in their inboxes.
To effectively address their problems, offer relevant content with helpful tips and information.
There's no need to write a lengthy email; a few concise sentences will suffice. You can also link to a website, YouTube video, or blog for further information.
Type your favorite topic in the Google search bar, and it provides webpages with the related information.
Review a few pages, get the main idea, and write an email about it for your subscribers.
Just type your topic in the YouTube search bar, and you will discover a bunch of videos related to your topic.
Watch a few videos, extract the main points, and start writing an email about it.
Write about a recently released product, service or solution. It would delight your email subscribers to hear something new in your niche.
I use Google News and MSN News to discover new information regarding a specific topic.
You can use AI, like ChatGPT, to generate email content for free.
However, ensure you provide excellent prompts to create helpful content that meets your target audience's needs and desires.
If you don't give ChatGPT proper directions and details, it will not generate high-quality email content, as per my experience.
Once you get the ChatGPT content, make sure to customize it according to your tone of voice and style, then send it to your email list.
The main purpose of a story is to build a relationship with your email list. You can tell the story of yourself or someone else's.
When you share success stories about how a product has made a positive difference in your life or the lives of your customers, it truly resonates with your email subscribers.
These stories can inspire hope and positivity, reminding them that change is possible and that they’re not alone in their journey.
Mention how your life was before and after using the product. Write in detail the pain points and problems that were disturbing your life.
Then, write how the newly discovered product improved your life or business. You can mention the 3-4 benefits of the product.
For example,
Hey Smith,
I was 100 pounds overweight and loaded with toxic fats.
I was seeking help for 9 years to lose a few pounds, but nothing worked.

Story Email Example.
Tell your stories in a narrative way.
Make it memorable, emotional and relatable to enoucrage the email subscribers to click the link and take action.
Follow-up emails are a series of automated emails that can be sent based on a specified schedule once a new subscriber joins your list.
Most email marketers set promotional emails in their follow-up series and start promoting a product from day one, which is not a good IDEA.
However, professional marketers who make big money with email marketing don't follow this method of monetizing email automation.
They send value-based emails first, then start promoting after a few emails. This criterion increases the conversion rate dramatically.
Actually, I create 10 follow up emails and dedicate the 5-7 of them for providing value only.
In these 5-7 emails, I teach them something and help them overcome a specific problem.
For example..
If a subscriber joined my email list to learn about affiliate marketing, therefore, in one email I introduce them to the best affiliate marketing systems...
and in the next email I teach them the best traffic sources for affiliate marketing.
The same value-based email series will continue till email number 7.
Finally, in the last 3 emails, I begin to promote an offer.
Mention the benefits of your product or service in the email instead of its features to encourage subscribers to engage with your email.

In other words, features are characteristics or functionalities of a product or a service.
For example...

2. A benefit describes how that feature improves the customer’s life or solves their problem.
It focuses on the value or positive outcome the customer will experience by using the feature.
Benefits translate features into something meaningful for the customer.
For example...
1. The antioxidants in the cream allow women over 50 to get rid of wrinkles and look 25 years younger.
2. The 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of SSD ensure fast performance and ample storage for seamless multitasking.
Social proof in email marketing refers to using evidence that others trust or benefit from your product or service.
It builds trust and persuades readers to take action.
To add social proof to your email campaigns, include customer testimonials, reviews, or case studies.
For example...
share a video testimonial from a happy customer who solved a problem with your product.
Highlight the number of people using your service, like "Join 10,000+ satisfied customers!"
Mention awards or recognitions you've earned.
Adding photos or videos of real users can make it even more impactful.
Social proof helps build credibility and boosts your conversion rate.
The subject line is the first thing that catches people's attention in the inbox and encourages email subscribers to open the email.
According to research, 64% of email subscribers open an email based on the subject line alone.
And another study revealed that 33% of email subscribers open emails because of their catchy subject lines.
Power words are persuasive terms that evoke emotion and action in the inbox, such as discover, easy, boost, new, now, proven, potent, powerful, and more.
Highlighting a specific result in numbers and statistics inspires subscribers to take action FAST. But remember that it should be relatable to them.

Curiosity is a strong emotion that drives us to learn more, explore deeper, and discover what comes next, making it a powerful way to grab attention.
For example,

Keep your subject lines under 8 words or less. If it is too long, your subscribers can't see it in their mobile phones fully.

What is segmentation in email marketing?
It's the process of segmenting your email list into different parts based on interest, purchase history, behavior, etc.
Let's see the segments of the "food recipes" email list based on interests.
1. Vegan Diet Recipes Segment

3. Paleo Diet Recipes Segment
Now let's see the segments of the "food recipes" email list based on purchase history.

Segmentation increases your email conversion rate by allowing you to target the right audience, personalize messages, boost engagement, and build trust.
Here is a step-by-step guide to segmenting your email list to boost your email conversion rate.
Determine in advance for what purpose you want to segment your email list. Is it going to be for engagement, purchase, abandoned cart, inactivity, location, or something else?
Once you have defined your goal, access your email autoresponder and create a segment, naming it appropriately.
Step 3 : Send Emails
After creating your email list segment, you can now send related emails and set up a special follow-up series targeting your defined segment.
What is email deliverability? It means how well your email gets delivered to the subscriber's inbox.
If you spend a lot of time writing the best email copy and promoting the best product in the world, but you fail to reach inboxes, it's very frustrating.
Make sure you already authenticate your domain and sender email addresses with the help of your email marketing platform and domain service provider.
SPF, DKIM, and DMARC are the most important email authentications that can be set up in your domain DNS records.
Avoid using the most common spam trigger words that are used by spammers on the internet.
Such as making millions, financial freedom, guaranteed, buying now, acting now, $$$, !!!, and passive income.
If you write "Achieve Financial Freedom In 3 Weeks" in your subject line, no one will believe it because it looks like a spammy email. So avoid it.
I recommend testing your email before sending it to your email subscribers for delivery issues.
I test my emails with two Gmail email addresses to see where my emails are landing, in the inbox or spam filter.
If the email lands in the spam filter, try to write a new subject line or rewrite a portion of your email copy and test it again.
I use the 4 mentioned steps to boost my email conversion rate on a daily basis.
Definitely, these simple steps allow you to skyrocket your open rates, click-through rates, and conversion rates.
I strongly recommend you focus on step 1 more because it builds the foundation of a strong relationship with your email subscribers.
